FRIDAY, MAY 25 – 11:30 am. (YES, morning) Grammy Award winning artists, TRAIN will appear at Bar Anticiption’s Grotto Beach to perform an acoustic set kicking off Summer 2012 at the Jersey Shore with 94.3 FM The Point. Admission is free and on a first come, first served basis.

Train is an American pop band from San Francisco, California, formed in 1994. The band currently comprises a core trio of Patrick Monahan (vocals), Jimmy Stafford (guitar, vocals) and Scott Underwood (drums, percussion).

Train, with a line-up that included original members Rob Hotchkiss and Charlie Colin, as well as Monahan, Stafford and Underwood, achieved mainstream success with their debut album, Train, which was released in 1998 with the hit “Meet Virginia”. Their second album, Drops of Jupiter (2001), brought the band massive popularity. The lead single from the album, “Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me)”, was an international hit and won two Grammy Awards in 2002. The album was certified double platinum in the United States and Canada and remains the band’s best-selling album to date.

Their third studio album, My Private Nation, released in 2003, continued the band’s success, and was certified platinum in the United States with the hit “Calling All Angels”. Following the departures of Hotchkiss and Colin, the band released their fourth album, For Me, It’s You in 2006, with Johnny Colt on bass and Brandon Bush on keys. Despite a generally positive reception from critics, the album was commercially unsuccessful. Train then went on a three-year hiatus.

Returning in late 2009 with the album Save Me, San Francisco, from which album three singles— the RIAA 5x Platinum certified international hit “Hey, Soul Sister”, “If It’s Love” and “Marry Me”— reached high positions on the Billboard Hot 100 at number three, 34, and 34 respectively. The album itself has been certified Gold by both the RIAA and ARIA and is currently closing in on Platinum status having sold 954,000 units. Since 2008, Hector Maldonado (bass, guitar, vocals, percussion) and Jerry Becker (keyboards, guitar) have been touring and recording with the group around the world. Cello player Ana Lenchantin joined the band for a few months during the last leg of the Save Me, San Francisco tour from June through October 2011.

The band has sold around 14 million records in their home country.

California 37 (2011–present)

Train has currently completed their sixth studio album entitled California 37. This album is currently # 10 on iTunes. Train has been performing the song “Drive By”, which is the first single release from the new album, during their 2011 Summer Tour. The country oriented song entitled “Bruises” is set to appear as well with Pat stating “it could be a really big career song for Train.” The album is currently available for purchase on iTunes which includes the bonus track “to be loved” with a complete album download.

The first single from the album entitled “Drive By” is currently #11 on the Billboard Hot 100 (current peak), #10 on iTunes (peak of #7), #17 CHR/POP (current peak), #12 AC (current peak), #3 Hot AC ( peak of # 2 ), and #9 AAA. The single has already been certified RIAA Platinum.

Train performed during the halftime show of the 2012 Discover Orange Bowl in Miami.

Train performed the song “Drive By” on David Letterman.

On March 27, Train performed their current single “Drive By” and 3 other songs, including a Van Halen cover, on The Howard Stern Show.

On February 26, 2012 Pat Monahan performed the National Anthem at the Daytona 500.

On April 18, 2012, California 37 hit #1 on iTunes, the day after being released.

Wednesday, November 23 – THANKSGIVING EVE. This HUGE Annual event gets bigger every year with $2.75 Coors Lights all night, DJ Mike Nice and BIG BANG BABY. Admission is Free until 9 pm and the outside is open with a heated tent.

FRIDAY HAPPY HOUR - The Legendary HOLME Returns to Rock The Jersey Shore’s Top Happy Hour at Bar Anticipation on Friday, February 24 at 8 pm. Enjoy ice cold Bud and Bud Light pints for only $2.25 from 4 – 9 pm and a complimenary buffet. Party with DJ Mike, DJ Kirk Lopez and Emcee Shirlene.

HOLME hits the stage around 6:30 pm and will keep the place jumping until around 10 – 10:30 pm.

Who is HOLME?

Holme band is a rock band from Belmar, New Jersey. They play a beautiful mix of some of the most known cover songs while adding their own pieces here and there. They remind us how hard it is to be a cover band, to switch styles and moods and impersonate many artists all in one night with enough sincerity to keep the audience interested.

Holme band is a definite crowd pleaser with a big range of songs that move the crowd from Elvis, Doo-Wop, Rockabilly, Beatles, Hendrix, Clapton and a lot more. It’s nothing easy trying to recreate some of the best songs ever created without sounding like a lifeless plastic reenactment.

Holme band are a very skilled group of people whom have the proper technique to play all these covers and at the same time know their music well. They sure know how to bring the songs to life with great instrumentality from the whole band. The guitar and vocals definitely carry the band to another level and really help bring these covers to life. The band pleases the crowd and definitely gets the crowd movin’ and groovin’. Nine Deeez Nite isn’t your everyday, run-of-the-mill cover band. Nine Deeez Nite prides themselves on delivering an exciting flashback of 90’s nostalgia to the tri-state area.

From Pearl Jam to The Presidents of the United States of America, their set list keeps the audience rockin’ to songs they love and songs they have forgotten they love.

The fun never stops with Nine Deeez Nite. In between sets, the fan-favorite “Nine Deeez Mega Mix Dance Party” keeps people dancing.

The audience is also part of the show. A lucky fan will test their 90’s knowledge with “Nine Deeez Trivia” and could win authentic 90’s memorabilia.
